Healing in Nature: A Workshop for the Young Adult Cancer Community (Gilda's Club)

Adolescents and Young Adults experience a number of unique quality of life issues during and after cancer treatments. Reduction in or absence of a sense of empowerment, and challenges in developing a clear sense of autonomy and identity, can be common as a result of rapid life changes. This workshop welcomes members of the young adult cancer community to develop a deeper understanding of how the connection between nature and embodiment can support personal healing. Explore how spending time in nature and using accessible practices like mindfulness and breathing can offer possibilities for restoring a sense of wholeness by reconnecting with a sense of self, cultivating daily well-being, and making empowered choices in health and healing. Participants will have an opportunity for experiential learning and engagement both on and offline.

This workshop will be facilitated by Amelia Coffaro, C-IAYT, Yoga Therapist and young adult cancer survivor.

Registration required & spots are limited! Open to young adults that have been diagnosed with cancer before age 40 and are currently between the ages of 18-45.
